Employment Services
We
help individuals with cognitive and/or physical disabilities obtain
and maintain employment through the following services:
Assessment/Career Planning
Our Employment Specialists take into consideration an individual's interest and abilities when considering a job match. They also evaluate pre-employment, transportation and Social Security issues.
Job Development
Employment Specialists utilize a "person-centered approach" to assist individuals with disabilities in finding employment. They provide activities that help individuals secure employment in a competitive work setting. Often times, an individual is able to sample various jobs before a final job match is made.
Job Placement
Once employment is secured, our Employment Specialists provide assistance to both the employer and the new employee ensuring that necessary supports are put in place in order for the individual to be successfully employed.
Job Coaching
One-to-one training/job coaching is provided at the job site. This helps an individual learn what's required of him and adjust to the work setting.
Follow Along
Employment Specialists provide continued support to both the employer and employee.
Long-term follow-along support is funded through the Division of Developmental Disabilities. Individuals eligible to receive this service must be registered with DDD.
