Substance Abuse Prevention
Roads2Recovery
Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey has produced "Roads2Recovery," a public awareness
campaign that aims to increase access to substance abuse prevention
and treatment services for individuals with disabilities and prevent
substance abuse among people with all types of disabilities
statewide.
| This prevention education training and technical assistance program includes a ten-minute video, “Silent Storm,” which explores the problem of substance abuse among people with disabilities. Through personal interviews with people in recovery, drug counselors and disability advocates, the film brings insight to the issue of substance abuse and co-existing disabilities, including risk factors, family concerns, accessibility and barriers to service. |

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Alcohol-Related Birth Defects
Cerebral Palsy of New Jersey is actively promoting public awareness campaigns about the primary preventable cause of mental retardation. No safe level of alcohol consumption during pregnancy has been determined. We are able to bring this message to schools, community groups and organizations.
For more information about these programs or to schedule a presentation, contact Debbie Aidelman MS, CPS Director of Substance Abuse Prevention at 888-322-1918 ext. 518.
